Adventure Tour Vinicunca – Rainbow Mountain 1 Day

Very early in the morning, at 4:00 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in our private tourist transport, and then we will head south from the city to Cusipata-Paucarpata, a journey that will take approximately 2 hours. There, we will enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast (scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, fruit salad, hot beverages, etc.).

After breakfast, we will continue for approximately 40 minutes to the control point, where we will begin our hike. Upon reaching this point, our guide will provide you with instructions and recommendations for the route, along with any last-minute updates, before we finally begin.

The hike will last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes until we reach Vinicunca or Rainbow Mountain at 5,020 meters above sea level. Along the way, we will observe the local fauna, including llamas and alpacas, which graze under the watchful eye of shepherds dressed in beautiful traditional regional attire. We’ll pass through stunning gorges, heading towards higher elevations, surrounded by snow-capped peaks like Ausangate. As we near the summit, you’ll notice a change in the landscape, the colorful mountain range of Vinicunca (5,020 meters/16,466 feet). We’ll arrive at this point between 10:30 and 11:00 am.

Here, our guide will provide detailed explanations about the geography, ecosystem, and the colors of the mountain. You can capture the most breathtaking photos of Rainbow Mountain from this vantage point, enjoying the beautiful scenery at 5,080 meters above sea level. Afterward, we’ll take the return route via the Red Valley viewpoint, passing through the red mountains and walking through this Andean desert ecosystem. We’ll make one last stop at another viewpoint in Vinicunca for photos before heading back to Llaqto, where our vehicle will be waiting.

Next, we’ll enjoy our delicious buffet lunch with a variety of Novo Andina cuisine. Finally, we’ll return to the city of Cusco, arriving in the Imperial City at approximately 5:00 pm.
